Employed by Professor Patrick Gunning to design and synthesize cancer therapeutics, specifically, 2,6,9-trisubstituted purines designed to occupy the SH2 domain of stat3 (signal transducer and activator of transcription) as well as compounds designed to target ubiquitin and ubiquitin like activating enzymes (E1s).
-
Worked in close collaboration with researchers at Princess Margaret Hospital to test the efficacy of molecules
-
Position required the purification of compounds using column chromatography including using an Isolera flash purification system as well as preparative HPLC. Compounds were then analyzed using analytical HPLC, NMR and Infrared spectroscopy.
