Shiva started her medicinal chemistry post-doctoral fellowship at the  University of Toronto Mississauga in 2016. She particularly chose UTM  for her post-doctoral studies because of the innovative anti-cancer  project offered by Dr. Gunning’s research group. Her work involves  studying the molecular association events using a wide variety of biophysical techniques, including SPR, fluorescence, ITC and SPR.   

 

Throughout her PhD years at the University of Waterloo, Shiva was  drawn toward polymer chemistry and other areas of science such as  analytical and organic chemistry. Her PhD involved synthesizing poly  (alkyl methacrylate) labeled polymers with pyrene derivatives and she has authored a number of publications.
