Dr. MURUGAN SUBARAMANIAN
Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Murugan Subaramanian pursued his postdoctoral studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, under the guidance of Prof. P. Andrew Evans from 2022 to 2023. During this time, his research was primarily centered on synthesizing analogues of the natural product Mycalolide-B aimed at inhibiting cancer metastasis. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2022 from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, India, under the supervision of Prof. E. Balaraman. His doctoral thesis was titled "Non-Precious Metal Catalysis for Dehydrogenation and Related Reactions." Prior to his Ph.D., Murugan completed his M.Sc. degree at Gandhigram Rural Institute – Deemed University, Tamil Nadu, India and his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu, India.
Presently, he holds the position of a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, dedicated to designing and developing novel drug candidates, with a special emphasis on advancing disease-modifying therapies, particularly targeting peripheral neuropathies and cardiovascular diseases.
